CORE PIPELINE LAYER
Structural Planning
The skeleton every shot hangs on.
“A story without beats is a mood without motion.”
BeatMap breaks your story into semantically meaningful narrative beats — the structural skeleton that all directorial decisions are applied to. Each beat is classified by type (Establish Environment, Inciting Discovery, Pursuit, Escalation, Reaction, Realization, Resolution), assigned a confidence score, and mapped to a position in the story's escalation curve.
BeatMap doesn't just slice your story into scenes. It reasons about narrative momentum: which beats build tension, which beats release it, where the story turns, and how each moment connects to the next. This structural map determines how many shots are planned, how energy is distributed across acts, and where the camera grammar shifts.
High-confidence beats compile cleanly into shots with full camera specifications. Low-confidence beats get flagged for clarification — surfaced to the creator before they waste time on a direction that won't compile. BeatMap is where ambiguity becomes structure.

Director's Notes
Every competitor in AI video generation skips this step entirely. They take your text and generate frames. StoryDirector takes your text and reasons about its structure before generating anything. The difference is the difference between a slideshow and a film. Films have beats. Beats have momentum. Momentum requires planning. BeatMap is that planning layer.
