The year is 2030 and the world is at war. Rich and Maggs have been drafted and deployed to fight on the Eastern European front in Russia.
They are driving in an old Toyota truck — Rich is the driver, Maggs is the passenger — down an open Russian country road, desolate, war ravaged and depressing with the threat of a drone attack lingering nonstop.
Rich in the driver seat, Maggs in the passenger seat, they both have a 1000 mile stare on their faces from exhaustion and constant combat from months in the field.
Maggs leans forward and turns on the radio and sits back in his passenger seat, relaxing with the weight of his circumstances weighing heavy on his mind.
As they continue to drive, Rich says, "motherfucker, we are approaching the spot we got chased by drones last time. Keep an eye out and let me know if you see any."
Maggs grabs his rifle and raises it, sticking it partially out the window as he observes the sky for drones.
All of a sudden, the hum of a small drone can be heard in the background approaching their truck. Maggs spots it and repositions himself to be seated looking reverse, facing the back of the truck as he partially climbs out the window with his military rifle and begins taking shots at the drone, which is closing in on Maggs and Rich in the truck.
Rich dials up the speed, the truck now barreling fast and recklessly down the road in an attempt to outrun the drone.
Maggs, partially hanging out the window still, continues firing on the drone until finally one of his shots hits his target and the drone explodes midair only 20 feet from striking their truck.
Rich slows down the speed of the truck as things start to settle and calm down. Maggs gets himself back seated normally in the truck as they continue driving down the desolate and war ridden road somewhere in Russia.
As Maggs gets himself seated normally, he says, "Easy work" and winks at Rich.
Rich, relieved the drone is gone and destroyed, looks at Maggs and says, "man this shit is almost as bad as that fantasy football season in 2026 when Derek fuckin dominated all of us."
Maggs, shaking his head in agreement, responds, "fuck man, I still have nightmares about that season. That shit drove me into a year long depression."
Rich, commiserating in agreement, responds, "I feel ya brother, that shit was devastating. Honestly bro, I spent most nights crying myself to sleep. Hardest time of my life."
The car falls to silence as the men are visually disturbed remembering how badly they were beaten in fantasy football in 2026.
Rich starts to cry, tears forming in his eyes, as he says, "I can't think of it without crying bro… that shit still hurts me to my core."
The car drives off down the road as the camera pans out and circles, showing the war torn landscape with craters from explosions, bodies left behind in the fields and burnt out and destroyed buildings.
